Wagrain

Nestled within the heart of Salzburgerland, Wagrain exudes the timeless charm of a traditional Austrian mountain village. Surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Ski Amade region, its sun-drenched slopes and lush alpine pastures create a seamless bridge between exhilarating winter descents and serene summer hikes. The village maintains a restful pace, where steeple bells echo against craggy summits and cobblestone paths lead to cozy squares, preserving an authentic heritage that feels both intimate and grand. The landscape is dotted with small, family-run hotels that serve as the soul of local hospitality. Here, generations of hosts welcome travelers with genuine warmth and regional flavors, offering a sanctuary of pine-scented rooms and panoramic balconies. Whether draped in deep snow or wildflower blooms, Wagrain offers a quintessential alpine escape defined by soaring vistas and heartfelt simplicity.

Experience a Ski Adventure in Wagrain

The Ski Resort

The family ski area in the heart of Ski amadé is the best way to describe wonderful Wagrain. The resourceful ski resort regularly improves the area by maintaining and building new lift systems. The innovative approach and welcoming atmosphere have made the resort a favorite destination for many satisfied skiers who return year after year.

In Wagrain you can enjoy 350 piste kilometers distributed on 120 perfectly groomed slopes with snow guarantee. Although it only takes about 20 centimeters of snow to be able to ski, Wagrain has secured itself with super snow cannons. They can make it possible to keep 90% of the area open and functioning even in +2 degrees.

In general, the slopes are wide, well-shaped and easy to navigate, making them perfect for all levels – especially the small skiers and beginners! Families in particular feel particularly comfortable on the wide slopes. On the other hand, there are good opportunities for the experts and carving kings on the large and wide slopes with free panoramic views. We recommend visiting the World Cup slope in Zauchensee and the Herman Maier tour in Flachau.

Bonus info: Ski amadé covers five first-class regions.
