In summer the valley turns into one of Austria's best known mountain bike destinations, with bike park trails, flow lines and lift-served descents straight from the gondolas. Hikers have hundreds of kilometres of marked paths, from easy valley walks to the peaks above the treeline, and many lifts stay open so you can ride up and walk down. It is a good-value summer base: green, quiet, and with the mountains starting where the village ends.
